If some speculation online that decision to correlate results below expectations of Mars Needs Moms, produced by Zemeckis, the box office last weekend, the cancellation implemented by Disney, according to sources reported by Comingsoon.net, would actually traced back to a few months ago. If the house of Mickey Mouse has been called off, it remains to be seen whether Zemeckis will try to bring the project to some other studio.

Disney has however denied that the waiver of a remake of the famous musical of the Beatles can be traced back to failure at the box office last animated film Milo on Mars. In recent days, The Hollywood Reporter published a story linking him to stop his project on the flop of the film, directed by Simon Wells, but Disney has denied.

Disney said that the decision not to go ahead is taken from time, from before the release of Milo on Mars. THR, however, has pointed out that Robert Zemeckis is bound by agreements that will allow him to present the project to other studios. THR also mentions how the project had already met with some difficulties, for example budget, not to mention a meeting scheduled between Zemeckis and the heirs of the Beatles, postponed several times and then finally canceled altogether in December 2010. The plan was to have 16 songs in the movie of the famous group of Liverpool.
